Get out of your own way!

Get out of your own way!

Taking a moment to feel what it meant to me to present at the Georgia Public Health Association Conference today... but to also relate it back to you.
I submitted my presentation in October of last year. I did it as a way for me to visualize and go through the actions and feelings of what it would be like to submit, give the talk, and make my approach of someday getting sound therapy into hospitals. I researched the format, watched countless tutorials, pulled together my case studies, and put it all together in this package called an Abstract. I never thought I would actually get chosen. 😳

From the outside, you don’t get to see all the work and all the people who came together for me to do this 30min presentation. The 7 years in the industry. The 4 years of working to create sustainable sound therapy programs specific for corporate clients and therapy centers. The time teaching and mentoring up-incoming Sound Therapist. The programs I have invested in to help propel me forward. The time other people put in to support my moments of doubt, or time to help create the programs or experiences you have with me. (So many people to list!) Everything. All of it.. prepared me for today. And pushed me over the edge to something greater!

The same goes for you. Where are you getting in the way of your own evolution? You are feeling “on the edge” of something greater for a reason. You have been preparing for this change (in whatever area of your life it is) for a while. Get out of your own way, NOW! That’s when things really start to get interesting. 💕 .

”Sometimes you have to close your eyes to truly SEE.” -Danielle Hall

”Sometimes you have to close your eyes to truly SEE.” -Danielle Hall
Get it? SEE: SoundEmbracE 😜

...it feels weird to quote yourself. 🤔😅😂

All joking aside, closing your eyes and finding stillness EVERYDAY is a powerful tool to uncover inner knowledge, heal, shift perspective, and find peace. Adding sound, like a sound bath, can amplify those efforts.

So happy to see you today. And I look forward to providing 2 more for you at Wanderlust Atlanta tomorrow with my former student Sonido Sound Healing and apprentice Larry. Our first, is at 8:30am and the second at 1:00pm!

I love these moments... these “beyond words” moments.. they catch you off guard and make you feel a certain way.

I love these moments... these “beyond words” moments.. they catch you off guard and make you feel a certain way. Surprised. Seen... that feeling like what you do and who you are matters. It gives you a moment of great pause in a world where we are always ON.

...like the times you send me your testimonials of how this work has impacted you 💕
... times where people just show up when they know it means something to you💕
...times where someone calls you out on the story you’re telling yourself 💕
...times where someone calls you out on the bad spelling and grammar for the stories you are telling 😂💕
... the time someone you like calls you “babe” for the first time 💕
... times when someone reaches out because they are inspired by your story and want to interview you on their podcast 🤯💕

Pause. Wow. Episode 18 is Available Now on Thrive Beyond Cancer Summit where I was interviewed by Tekquiree Chenell where we discuss Sound Therapy, Sound Baths, How Sound Therapy helps your body go into its own natural state of healing, how Sound Therapy makes you more aware and connected, how Sound Therapy creates an environment for you to be still, and how the sounds around you influence your well-being. Check out the link in her bio Thrive Beyond Cancer Summit to take a listen.

Social Media Has Created a Whole New Industry

Social media has created a whole new industry where there are now therapist specializing in social media addiction and the depression, anxiety, and attempted suicides that come with it. And I’m NOT just talking about adults... I work with one of those amazing therapy centers. I am so thankful for the work that Paradigm San Francisco does to help our youth, and the value they see from having sound healing as part of their program once a week. This is real. For something that is suppose to bring us together, and be a source of information, how can we empower our youth when they are inundated by highlight reels? I’m not saying take away screen time... this is still a powerful tool! But how do we empower our youth on social media? I don’t know what it’s like to be a parent. But I can tell you that our kids need us. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be hired by these therapy centers to work with them...

What dialog are you having with your children around social media? Have you experienced a dialog around comparison, depression, anxiety, or sexuality from what they are seeing on these channels? Comment below.

(Thank you ahead time for anyone commenting on this sensitive topic.)

Follow the feeling!

Follow the feeling.

I make decisions based on feeling. I get shit for it from time to time, but I have found that when I follow the feeling the mind comes in and figures out the rest. It’s served me well.

Relationships.
Work.
Friendships.
Go this way.
Say this.
Don’t say anything.

That feeling sense of our bodies is often overlooked but it’s always guiding us. We need only to pay attention.

Do you follow what you’re feeling? I know I can’t be the only one. Sound Healing has amplified it for me! The practice of using Sound to capture mind chatter to find Stillness has had a profound affect on my life.. Crystal bowls, chanting, drumming, breath... all vibrational tools that help us connect to our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies.

I don’t always want to act upon the feeling or awareness that comes through. And sometimes I make it hard on myself by resisting... but it always ends up showing me the truth. And while the truth can be hard to accept, it can also be liberating.

Evening Cup Introspection: Lemon Tea

Evening Cup Introspection: Lemon Tea

December 19th/ 9:55pm/ Atlanta, GA.

Today was an OFF day.  I woke up feeling exhausted with a little bit of brain fog but had an appointment at The Training Room ATL so I rolled myself out of bed and into my sneakers.
I was determined to have a productive day!  I forced some happy energy and walked into the building to get started.

Not even 30 seconds into the rower I started to feel dizzy.  I slowed down and it went away.  Went into the next thing. There it was again!  The dizziness and a few black spots.  I finished, caught my breath and then went on to the next. Barely 3 tries and I felt like I was going to pass out.

Amber Goppert ended the session, and sent me home for a loooonng nap.

Exercise, can tell you a lot about where you are in your health. For me, it was telling me that I was exhausted and dehydrated, but was too darn stubborn to listen to my body. So what did my body do? It acted out and made me stop! It was also reminding me that a "Go, go, go" lifestyle is NOT sustainable and that I need to slow my roll!
While regular exercise is one of the pillars of healthy living, it is an epigenetic factor that can harm or elevate your wellness story!

Exercise improves cardiovascular health, lowers blood pressure, helps control body weight, and protects against a variety of diseases.  Just like a healthy diet, exercise can contribute to general good health and to a healthy immune system. It also contributes by promoting good circulation, which allows the cells and substances of the immune system to move through the body freely and do their job efficiently.
But if you do too much, push yourself beyond what is healthy for YOUR body, it can cause unnecessary stress that can lower your immune system. Or, like in my case, not allow me to push any more until I got some the rest! I know we are in the “busy” season, but slow down, listen to your body. Its REALLY smart and is telling you what it needs ALL TIME!
