The path in front of me...

The path in front of me...

A mom tried to get me to influence her kid into going to college.. I ask him if he had an interest in anything. He said no. I turned to the mom and responded,” You’re not going to like my answer. I don’t think everyone needs to go to college. NOW you want to be a doctor, lawyer, go to college... otherwise go travel if you can, sleep on some couches, and find out who you are and what you’re passionate about.”

The mom wasn’t exactly happy about my response... but she was polite. 😅

We are fed so much from society, school, our families, and peers on who we should be, how we should act, what we should do... granted this is a gross over generalization, here, but for many people this is what life is. We get to 18 and we feel like we are suppose to have a plan and know what we want to do.

I didn’t know what I was going to do, so my back up plan to not knowing was to join the military and play saxophone in the military band. 😂 I just happened to go to a college fair where there was a sweet lady who talked me into trying for a scholarship at an art school... I got the scholarship, and got my BFA in Photographic Imaging instead! 10 years later I am working as a Sound Therapist! 🥰

The path in front of you is your choice to make. You can take the one readily available, the one you’re told to take, (which may be an area that actually interest you!) or, take out the machete and clear a new path!

I know some of you are struggling with purpose. It’s ok. Come to a sound bath, and connect inward. The answers are there. You just have to give yourself permission to see, do, and be YOU.
