Being open to the path that’s unfolding.
I was in the process of buying a small parcel of land. I was doing my due diligence. I went to zoning, mapping, and probate. I talked to tree removal service, and what it would take to put in a septic tank, power, and water. This little piece of land (.45acre) looked manageable, was going to lower my overhead, and give me a place to come back to after long road trips and periods of being away. The best part! It was close to my family who would be more than happy to watch over it when I would be away.
Well, the sellers agent ended up being sexist and patronizing. After doing my homework on the land found I called @estremezco for some advice and ended up teaming up with an agent to help me as there was a deed issue, a pipe issue, zoning issue (there’s a dilapidated structure built too close to the property line) etc. My agent brings my offer to the sellers agent and… nothing. GHOSTED for two weeks.
I received a call 2 days ago from the sellers agent to tell me that the seller was no longer willing to even hear an offer from me because I was working with agent. He said that there was no room to pay a commission to another agent.
I then said that I have an agreement with my agent and that the seller would not have to be concerned with paying a commission to my agent.
The agent then repeated himself/yelled at me. And I plainly replied,” No Mr. xxxxxx. YOU don’t want to bring my offer to the seller because YOU don’t want to have to work with another agent. Doesn’t the truth feel better? Thank you, but I see there is no business to be done here.”
I was super bummed.. but there is something to unanswered prayers!
I called my dad to update him… and then he offers to sell me his parcel of land! which is in the same town, and is bigger lot just around the corner from my dads house. Giving me everything I was looking for and more with less stress! And then in the same day my leasing office gives me an option to move out this month! (That’s another story!)
Can I be out by the 20th? We’ll see!
What an unexpected ride! I will share more as it develops!
